Notepad Box and CHA

This was a little project I made for gifts.  JoAnn's had some notepad boxes already covered in this cute paper, so thought they would be fun to jazz up the tops.

Can you tell I LOVE the minis and the dies!!!  To help us out, Diana has the dies discounted, so please check them all out HERE.   There are some new ones too!!!

I've also used a Punch Bunch mini sun and a Spellbinders scalloped and plain oval.  Water colored this happy little girl in Distress Inks on watercolor paper.  What???  No stickles???  Hmmm, must have missed those!

 

Now I did stamp on the notepad too, but NO, I did not stamp every page.  As crazy as I am, I thought about it, but thank goodness didn't have enough time!!!  :)

Okay, now for CHA!  Oh my, what a dream come true!  We had so much fun!  I'm still flying high!!!

Suzanne is so sweet and has such a positive energy.  Yup, Ruby is as full of enthusiasm in real life as on her blog and comments.  Angie is a "Little Darling" and yes cute as can be!!!  It was so great to meet them!!!  I've been such an admirer of all their work!  Hi gals!!!!  I'm hoping some of their talent rubbed off on me!!!

Sheila, Diana's niece is such a sweetie too!  Now to meet Diana and Roy in real life was such a pleasure!  A person just couldn't ask to know nicer people and sooo generous!!!  Can't thank them enough for this opportunity and everything else!

The aisles and aisles of product is overwhelming, it all becomes kind of a blur.  I did get around to check out a few things.  There were a few "papercrafting celebrity" sightings too!  :)

Tilda and Strawberries

This is the Magnolia-licious Blog Hop Summer Theme Challenge!!!  There are so many great categories such as Beach, Barbecues/Picnics and/or Fishing!!!  If you are following the hop and you came from the awesome Angela, you are on the right track.  If you came on your own, please go HERE to start the hop from the beginning.  (The hop starts 4:00 AM, Monday, July 18th, so if you're here before then,  I'm posting a little early to be sure it shows up because I will be at CHA!!!  Woohoo!!!)

Strawberries and baskets bring to mind picnics!!!  I've been wanting to make these strawberries and the mini Magnolia Tilda went perfectly for the tag.

MINI #338 STRAWBERRY YUMMY TILDA is water colored with Distress Inks.  Added white gel and glossy pens for accents.  Used a Punch Bunch mini sun punch for the centers of the flowers.  The texture on the berries is from the Cuttlebug mesh texture embossing folder.  Tied the tag onto the basket with gingham ribbon.

The strawberries are made from a pattern I got from Mo's Blog HERE.  Thank you Mo for sharing!!!  The #15 DOOHICKEY POINSETTIA DIES worked out nicely for the leaf tops of the strawberries to thread the cord through the hole in the center, so they could be opened.  I'm thinking a Lindt Lindor Milk Chocolate Truffle would be perfect in these berry containers!!!     MMMmmmmm Strawberries and Chocolate............perfect combination!!!

The basket is one made by trial and error.  I'll try to come up with a pattern for it later.  Of course I used my trusty Scor-Buddy!!!  Actually the Scor-Buddy worked nicely to score the strawberries too!  Added a piece of gingham fabric for that final picnic basket look.

 Had to add this delicate lacy butterfly too!  This is the #29 DOOHICKEY SWIRL BUTTERFLY DIE and I love the detail in this die and that it has two pieces to make the body separate.

Magnolia-licious Highlites July Sketch

Loved Mindy's Sketch Challenge for July!!!  Really makes it nice to have a jump start as to where to begin with a card.

Used the adorable new #353 SWEETIE TILDA for the Sweet Rainbow collecton.  She is perfect for any occasion!  Of course got her at the Sweetie Diana's Magnolia-licious store.  Hard to see, but did also use the #19 MINI ZIG ZAG AND SCALLOP BORDER.  My swirls kind of covered the background band I made with the scallop border.  Really like these border dies for just a little added design and also the fact that they are 7" long so will fit across just about any card.

Had a little fun with a paper pack from Mrs. Elizabeth and did some paper piecing.  The package showed small thumbnail sizes of the printed paper inside, so it worked out perfectly to use for the paper piecing on Tilda's dress, shoe and bows.

Also used Spellbinders hexagon dies, Marianne swirls die,  Punch Bunch mini sun and butterfly punches, Stampin' Up! oval punches, Fiskars 1/16" and 1/8" circle punches and EK Success daisy punch.  Just a little coloring with Distress Inks and accented with white gel pen.  Got a little carried away with the dots!!!
